Feed the Family for $5

In this day and age, it's sometimes difficult to feed yourself for $5. Well, how about feeding the entire family for five bucks! It's not impossible. I stumbled across the website $5 dollar dinners, and was absolutely amazed. One of the recipes was for Bacon Wrapped Pork Roast for $4.94! The recipe is below, but check out the website to appreciate all the meals for $5. You'll be amazed!

Ingredients
1.4 lb pork roast ($3.24) Manager's Special, and I won't use all the meat for tonight's meal.
2 strips of bacon, cut in half ($.25)
Heaping Tbsp jelly ($.10)
1 lb. asparagus ($1.49) Price matched at Walmart
1/2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil ($.10)
1/2 french loaf ($.50) Purchased from the "Oops We Baked Too Much" Rack!
2 Slices GFCFSF homemade bread for the boys ($.50)

Directions

1. Spray bottom of crockpot with nonstick cooking spray, or add 1/4 cup of water. Place pork roast in bottom of the crockpot. Spoon heaping tablespoon of favorite jelly and spread over the top of the pork. Lay bacon strip halves over the pork, covering it. Cook on low for 8 hours. When done cooking, remove and let cool about 10 minutes. Slice and serve each piece with slice of bacon.
2. Prepare asparagus as indicated here.
3. Warm french loaf and slice.
4. Serve sliced pork roast with sauted asparagus and slice of french bread.
